I think the audio CD did a really good job of encompassing the range of emotions, noises, and voices of each character. Brenda's voice was really relatable, and when she spoke in a relaxed "teenager" voice it made it much easier for me to understand her and pay attention to the details. With the other effects in the background, it was really easy to picture the setting in the various different scenes. The different vocal ranges are super unique, and she does a really great job to distinguish every one from one another so we don't get confused or caught up too much. The accents also made it feel more authentic. Usually, I never listen to audio books because they don't keep me interested, but this one was definitely an exception. I was enjoying it from the beginning to the end because the auditory effects did a pretty good job and getting people's attentions. Overall, she brought the characters to life in a vivid and descriptive way. The effectiveness of her painting a picture of the community, both and inside and outside was exemplary.
